This shift in perception has revealed the startling frequency of occurrences of date rape, obscuring the divide between rape and what was once just sex. Just Sex? combines an overview of the existing literature with an analysis of recent research to examine the psychological and cultural implications of this new epidemic. The result is the conclusion that feminist theory on sexual victimisation has gone both too far and not far enough. an excellent book drawing on post-structuralism examining the ways in which women's experiences of rape are mitigated as 'just sex.' The book highlights the ways in which men are constructed and thus naturalised to be sexually desiring, aggressive subjects, while women are passive objects to be penetrated who lack sexual desire - the result being that women's experiences of rape are interpreted as 'simply' unwanted sex. Highly recommend to any feminist socio-legal or psychology student/scholar.

The history of the loans, the efforts of successive governments in Mexico to resume repayment, and the efforts of the foreign lenders to recover their investment became one of the most significant, persistent, and contentious, if largely misunderstood, issues in the political and financial history of nineteenth-century Mexico. The loans themselves became entangled in partisan politics in Mexico and abroad, especially in Great Britain and France, and were a fertile source of speculation for a wide range of legitimate - and not-so-legitimate - international financiers, including Baring Brothers and the House of Lizardi.

About the Author
Richard Salvucci is Professor of Economics at Trinity University. He has held major fellowships from the Social Science Research Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the American Philosophical Society. In 2006, he was the Peggy Guggenheim Visiting Fellow at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University, and, in 2008, he delivered the Christopher Lasch Memorial Lecture at the meeting of The Historical Society. He has published in the Hispanic American Historical Review, the Journal of Interdisciplinary History, and Historia Mexicana. His books include Textiles and Capitalism in Mexico: An Economic History of the Obrajes, 1539-1840; Latin America and the World Economy: Dependency and Beyond; and a chapter in The Cambridge Economic History of Latin America. In 2001, his article in the Journal of Interdisciplinary History, coauthored with Linda K. Salvucci, won the Conference on Latin American History Prize. Richard Salvucci lived in Mexico City from 1976 to 1977 and has returned repeatedly to Mexico for research and other professional purposes since then. He has also spent extensive periods in England, Spain, and Cuba doing historical research.

About the Author
Dr. Francesco Albanese graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Naples “Federico II” in 1993. Since 1994 he has been focusing his interest in veterinary dermatology by attending many congresses and courses in Italy and abroad. From 1996 to 1998 he attended the advanced course in dermatology at the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS). In June 2000, he passed the first part of the exam for the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD). He decided not to continue the final part. He is a full member of both the European (ESVD) and the Italian (SIDEV) Society of Veterinary Dermatology. He has been an invited speaker in many national and international workshops on canine and feline skin cytology. He published in both national and international journals. He authored some books in Italian language on feline and canine dermatology and skin cytology and the Atlas of Dermatological Cytology of Dogs and Cats, which has been translated in five languages. Dr. Albanese currently works as a freelancer on referred canine and feline dermatological cases. He is also a consultant of dermatology for the private veterinary laboratory "La Vallonea".
