A must read! most impressive book I read in a while!

Vicken Cheterian looks at the aftermath of the Armenian Genocide to understand the repercussions of denial and global indifference for one hundred years towards the first modern genocide of the 20th century.
The book is well written and easy to read and to follow, Vicken Cheterian moves from 1st to 2nd degree narrator bringing his personal experiences that enriches and lightens the heavy and difficult historical subjects that he's tackling.
He starts the book in a quest to understand the deeper reason for the assassination of Hrant Dink, an element that comes back in different chapters and ties the book in a subtle way, and his chapter "One Hundred years of Whispers" is powerful, narrating the suffering of those left behind, forcibly converted, Islamized and Turkified. The book finishes with a chapter on the "consequences", which leads us between hidden "deeper states" and deep conflicts in the same geographical area that the genocide once occurred.
It is a unique book by all means need to be read, it is not only a historical book, but I mostly appreciated the rich analytical approach and the different angles he took in each chapter that he tied nicely in the end.
In case you wonder why there is so much violence in the Middle East, I totally recommend you read this book!

If you are a cigar lover you need this book

I love good cigars and being curious I wanted to know more about them. This book helps to fill the knowledge void. In combination with videos on YouTube, etc. you will learn and see how cigars are made. The videos only tell part of the long and intricate story of making cigars. The books narrative, pictures and drawings give you an excellent knowledge base to understanding cigars.

I enjoyed the section on cigar etiquette and will prevent you from making embarrassing mistakes if you smoke at your cigar store.

The compendium of cigar manufactures was complete at the time and is still a good reference but could use updating because of the massive number of new cigar makers.

I have a cigar journal and the ring gauge is much more useful than the useless ones on the Internet.

I constantly refer to this book and I think you may really enjoy it too. And I also enjoy the Hacker sense of humor.

Very Informative

This little cigar book packs a heck of a punch. It covers just about everything. So much so that I went out and bought four different types of tobacco (two fillers, a binder and a wrapper) and I'm growing them now to roll my own cigars in the fall. Very informative and well written with lots of pictures.

Great Value!

I was very pleasantly surprised when I received this deck. My only goal to gain a few extra mnemonics to annotate into FA but found them to be one best/easiest introduction into bugs and drugs I have seen thus far (vs. CMMRS or Review for Micro/Immuno - Levinson, or lippincotts cards). There is a lot to be said for giving these bugs a face and a story, and the pictures though silly, help you remember even miniscule details.

Side by side I learned one bug from Micromneumics then the same bug from "Lippincott's Microcards -Harpavat".

I don't think there is any other way to come "fresh" into microbio, and memorize Hapravats cards as completely or as quickly then by using both decks concurrently! I will stick with Harpavat come boards, but getting through these cards without Microeconomics would have been more painful, would have taken a lot more time/effort, and I know that I would have retained far far less long term.

Excellent Step 1 Review

Real advantage is the corny pictures and puns to help remember the bugs. Overview cards for each class (e.g. Gram + cocci) are good for determining appropriate diagnostic orders for bugs. These cards are NOT for testing yourself since the name of the bug is on both sides of the card. Rather, these cards are for picture based memory of each bug based on clinical presentation.

Could not have made it through our micro class without these. As other reviews say, these can't be used like normal flashcards because the names of the organisms are on both sides. But the pictures and memory tricks are so helpful!

Glenn's series of books illuminating the facets of the jewel of Scholasticism. Unfortunately, this particular edition, published by Catholic Way Publishing, is an abomination of editing. I can not recommend the purchase of this particular edition.
